Importance of Research in Family Therapy
Family therapy aims to address the issue of familial conflicts. To be effective, its approach must be based on evidence and best practice, and that is where research comes into play. Research in how it is used, its successes and limitations, and so on, all can be used to hone methodologies and improve understanding. With that said, understanding familial relationships continues to present its own challenges, which are different from other therapeutic fields.
